Tara Halloween Street Closure 2025

This year’s Halloween street closure was a great success! Our police team did an amazing job directing visiting cars to designated parking lots and safely back out of the neighborhood. Both residents and visiting families that were polled shared that they loved the closure — it created a safer, more relaxed, family-friendly environment for everyone.

We’re already planning for next year’s event (which falls on a Saturday!) and will continue fundraising, along with using dues, to cover the closure costs. The city has stated that residents must sign a petition each year. However, we’re working to offer a multi-year petition signature option, though the city hasn’t confirmed if it will be accepted.

If you enjoyed this year’s Halloween experience—whether as a participant or a bystander—we need your signatures to make the closure possible. We’ll begin collecting them early next year, and sending yours in promptly makes a big difference. Last year, only about 30% of households returned their signed petition without reminders, and collecting them door-to-door takes a lot of volunteer time. We know everyone’s busy, but your early support helps keep this safe and fun neighborhood tradition going.
