Architectural Control Committee Member
Reviews and approves changes to home or property exteriors to ensure they follow the neighborhood's style and deed restrictions. Also, addresses any properties not adhering to deed restrictions. Involves visiting homes, reviewing plans, giving feedback in person, by mail, or email, all with the goal of keeping our neighborhood looking its best.

Welcome Committee Support
Welcomes new neighbors, provides them with information about the community, and helps them settle in. You’ll be there to greet them, answer any questions, and make their move into the neighborhood as smooth as possible.

2 hours/month
Photographer
 
Takes great photos at community events and gatherings to capture all the fun and special moments. This means showing up at events, snapping pics, and sharing them to help everyone feel connected and see what's happening in the neighborhood.

1 hr per event
Social Media Advisor
Helps get our social media up and running. Includes advising on content strategies, and making sure everything connects smoothly across different platforms. The goal is to keep residents engaged and make our neighborhood shine online.

3 - 4 hours
Project or Event Support
Helps out with organizing and running community projects/events. Involves handling the details, managing logistics, organizing volunteers and making sure everything goes smoothly.

1 hour - 10 hours per event/project depending on volunteers

Just fill out the questionnaire, and if your event supports our Tara community, we'll get in touch to help you brainstorm and plan.

 

The Tara Stations of the Cross, Tara Neighborhood Garage Sale, 2023 Ashland/Aurora Halloween Street Closure, and Crafts with Santa are excellent examples of neighbor-hosted events. Other ideas we've heard include kid/dog parade, ping pong tournament, scavenger hunt, neighborhood cleanup, and a block party to name a few.
