About the event
Our Annual General Membership Meeting is an important opportunity for residents to come together, hear about the goals and future plans for our community, and engage in open discussion.
Our City Representative, Laurie Adams, will be sharing updates on the traffic calming improvements for Tara Blvd—projects Tara Civic Association has been actively advocating for through MoveBR and Enhancement Funds.
Planned improvements include:
Lane Restriping: Narrowing the driving lanes to help reduce speeds, while adding a buffer between the travel lane, median, and bike lane. The bike lane will also be enhanced with additional protection from vehicle traffic.
Enhanced Crosswalks along Tara Blvd: Improvements at Tara Club and Trinity will include clearly marked zebra crosswalks, better connections to sidewalks, and added signal signage to improve pedestrian safety. The city will also study whether a stop sign at Trinity and Tara Blvd is feasible.
Radar Feedback Signs: Installation of radar speed feedback signs—two in each direction—located in the median to encourage safer driving speeds.
Another important item on this year’s agenda is a DUES CHANGE PROPOSAL, which will be presented for a membership vote. The meeting will also include voting on board positions. If you wish to be considered for an open position, please email us prior to the meeting at info@taracivic.org.
Neighbors will have the opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and voice concerns as part of the discussion. We ask that everyone participate in a respectful and constructive manner, keeping comments focused on relevant neighborhood topics so that all voices have the opportunity to be heard.
Children are welcome, and we encourage families to attend! Please note that while we won’t have formal childcare available, feel free to bring along quiet activities or entertainment to help keep little ones engaged during the meeting. Whether you're new to Tara or a long-time resident, your participation helps shape the future of our neighborhood.
Voting is for dues-paying Tara residents. If your dues are unpaid by the time of the meeting, you may pay them at the door.
